Ed Kelly
President and Chief Executive Officer, American Express Publishing Corporation
Ed Kelly is president and chief executive officer of the American Express Publishing Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the American Express Company. He oversees the Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Departures, Travel + Leisure Golf, Travel + Leisure Family, Executive Travel, and Black Ink brands, in addition to a variety of businesses such as books, products, digital properties, events, and custom print and online programs, geared for the affluent market.
Having served as publisher of each of the magazines in the American Express Publishing stable, Kelly has a distinct and versatile experience since joining the company in 1989. Under his direction, American Express Publishing has delivered year-over-year record profit and growth. In addition to advertising, he has strengthened consumer marketing operations, web strategy, and the custom solutions division, now engaged in 60 partnerships. The company's international magazine presence spans 21 international editions covering over 50 territories in 10 languages, with the recent debut of Travel + Leisure Korea and Food & Wine China.
Before Kelly was appointed president and chief executive officer in 2000, he was senior vice president and group publisher of the Travel + Leisure brand, where he oversaw the launch of Travel + Leisure Golf and
Travel + Leisure Family magazines. Kelly served as regional advertising director of Travel + Leisure in 1989, and in 1992 was promoted to associate publisher before he was named publisher of Departures in 1993. He became publisher of Food & Wine in 1994, and a year later moved to Travel + Leisure as publisher.
Prior to joining the company, Kelly worked at People in marketing services and at Field & Stream as advertising sales director.
Kelly currently serves on the boards of The Advertising Club of New York, Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, and the Magazine Publishers of America (MPA). He is a founding co-chair of the magazine industry's Magazine Marketing Coalition, a campaign promoting the power and effectiveness of magazines. A graduate of Rollins College, he is married and the father of three.
Mark Stanich
Chief Marketing Officer and President, Digital Media
Mark Stanich is chief marketing officer and president, digital media of American Express Publishing Corporation, an authoritative content company that produces the Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Departures, and Executive Travel brands in addition to products and services in the affluent lifestyle space.
In his role as chief marketing officer, a position he has held since 2000, he directs consumer business strategy, marketing, and product development for American Express Publishing’s magazines, books, products, and branded affinity services, as well as oversees custom publishing, database management, and international. As president of digital media, Stanich leads the company’s existing and emerging digital businesses, including websites, e-commerce applications, e-reader products, social media, and digital partnerships.
Prior to joining American Express in 1995, Stanich worked at Time Inc., where he held positions in various divisions including strategic planning, consumer marketing, advertising sales and marketing, and product development, and helped spearhead numerous magazine, book, and product launches.
Stanich is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the Harvard Business School. He has served on several industry boards, including his current directorships with the Online Publishers Association and BPA Worldwide, and has spoken frequently at industry conferences.
Paul Francis
Chief Financial Officer/Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Operations
Paul Francis is chief financial officer and senior vice president of corporate development and operations for the American Express Publishing Corporation. His responsibilities include the development of new revenue streams and oversight of online businesses including Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Departures, Travel + Leisure Golf, Travel + Leisure Family, Executive Travel, and Black Ink in addition to production and technology.
Prior to joining American Express Publishing, Francis was general manager of Money magazine. During his fourteen years at Time Inc., he held various finance and general management positions at People, Money, Your Company and Mutual Funds.
Born in London, Francis was raised in the United States, New Zealand, and Singapore. He received his BA from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Nancy Novogrod
Senior Vice President/Editorial Director, American Express Publishing, Editor in Chief, Travel + Leisure
The editor in chief of Travel + Leisure, Nancy Novogrod also serves as editorial director of American Express Publishing Corporation. In addition, Novogrod is responsible for the seven global editions of Travel + Leisure: Mexico, Turkey, China, Australia/New Zealand, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Korea, as well as
Travel + Leisures website and book series. She is also an advisor for the annual American Express Publishing Luxury Summit.
During Novogrods tenure at Travel + Leisure, the magazine has solidified its place as the world's most widely-read travel publication, gaining steadily in newsstand sales and net-paid circulation as it extends its reach internationally and through other media. The recipient of numerous editorial awards in the U.S. and abroad, Travel + Leisure has established many significant editorial platforms under Novogrod's direction, including the World's Best Awards, the Design Awards, and America's Favorite Cities, the basis for a groundbreaking multi-media partnership with CNN Headline News.
Before joining Travel + Leisure in 1993, Novogrod was editor in chief of House & Garden magazine. Previously, she was executive editor at Clarkson Potter/Publishers. At Potter, Novogrod developed a series of highly successful lifestyle books, including High-Tech, French Style, American Country, and Pierre Deux's French Country. Novogrod began her publishing career in the fiction department at The New Yorker.
Novogrod serves as a board member of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the New York Center for Children. The mother of a grown son and daughter, she lives in New York with her lawyer husband, John Novogrod.
Dana Cowin
Senior Vice President, Editor in Chief Food & Wine
Dana Cowin, Food & Wine magazine's editor in chief since 1995, has been covering the world of food, wine, style and design for more than 25 years. Under her leadership, the award-winning Food & Wine has attracted an audience of 7.5 million readers with a passionate interest in, and an adventurous approach to, cooking, wine, entertaining, restaurants and travel.
Cowin also oversees Foodandwine.com and Food & Wine Books, a successful business that publishes many titles including annual editions of Best of the Best, the Food & Wine Wine Guide and Food & Wine Cocktails. She also serves as editorial advisor to Food & Wine China, the publication's first international edition. Before joining Food & Wine, Cowin was managing editor of Mademoiselle, managing editor of HG and an associate editor of Vogue.
Cowin is on the board of directors of City Harvest, a New York City hunger-relief organization, for which she spearheads the annual "Skip Lunch Fight Hunger" campaign. She is chair of the board of editors of Brown Alumni Magazine and a member of Brown University's President's Leadership Council.
Cowin appears frequently on national television. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, Barclay Palmer, a senior producer at CNN, and their two children.
Richard David Story
Editor in Chief, Departures
Richard David Story is editor in chief of Departures, the leading authority on luxury lifestyle, published by the American Express Publishing Corporation for American Express Platinum Card and Centurion members. Under Story's helm, Departures has been nominated for three consecutive national magazine awards which it won in 2007 in the category "Best Single Topic Issue" for The Latin Issue in October 2007. Story also oversees Black Ink, a quarterly publication exclusively for Centurion members.
Before joining the American Express Publishing Corporation in June 2000, Story held several senior positions on leading lifestyle titles, including features editor of Vogue, senior editor of In Style, and assistant managing editor of New York magazine. He has also held editorial positions at Esquire, Travel + Leisure, USA Today, and Reader's Digest.
Story resides in Manhattan with his wife and son.
Janet Libert
Editor in Chief and Publisher, Executive Travel SkyGuide and Executive Travel
A frequent flyer traveling more then 100,000 miles per year, Janet Libert is editor in chief and publisher of the American Express Publishing Corporation's Executive Travel SkyGuide, a position she has held since 1994. She is also editor in chief of Executive Travel magazine, a lifestyle publication for the C-level business traveler, and oversees the newly-launched eSkyGuide, a digital database that instantly puts flight schedule information in the hands of busy travelers.
Before joining the company, Libert worked at the Official Airline Guide, where she directed marketing for their multiple business titles. Earlier in her career, she worked for the Chicago Tribune.
An authority on travel, Libert regularly appears on national news networks including NBC, ABC, CNN, and FOX News Channel.
She is a graduate of Notre Dame and lives in New York City.
JP Kyrillos
Vice President/Publisher, Travel + Leisure
JP Kyrillos is vice president and publisher of Travel + Leisure, the flagship title of the American Express Publishing Corporation and world's leading travel magazine with a network of international editions published in six countries. As publisher, Kyrillos oversees the magazines business operations, including sales and marketing.
Kyrillos, who was previously publisher of Food & Wine from August 2006 to October 2007, rejoined Food & Wine in January 2005 as associate publisher, having worked as an account manager overseeing travel-related business from 1996 to 1999. In between, he was ad director and later, associate publisher of Maxim in 2001. Kyrillos began his career in the sales department at Modern Bride.
A graduate of the University of Vermont and the Lawrenceville School, Kyrillos currently resides in New York City with his wife Dannielle.
Christine Grdovic Baltz
Vice President/Publisher, Food & Wine
Christina Grdovic Baltz is vice president and publisher of Food & Wine magazine, the market share leader of the epicurean category. An 11-year Food & Wine veteran, Grdovic Baltz oversees sales and marketing for the American Express Publishing title that has an audience of 6.9 million readers with a passionate interest in, and an adventurous approach to, cooking, wine, entertaining, restaurants, and travel. Currently, the Food & Wine brand includes Foodandwine.com, a successful branded book business, and Food & Wine China, the publication's first international edition that debuted last year.
Grdovic Baltz became publisher in October 2007; previously, she served as associate publisher since 2006. Grdovic Baltz joined Food & Wine in 1996 as event marketing manager, directing the publications signature event, the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. She was later promoted to marketing director in 2000 and associate publisher of marketing in 2005. During her tenure, she has directed and conceived countless marketing programs including Food & Wine's partnership with Bravo's Top Chef, the magazine's presenting sponsorship at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, and the Holland America Culinary Arts Program.
Prior to being recruited to Food & Wine, Grdovic Baltz worked in advertising at Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners.
Grdovic Baltz divides her time between Brooklyn and Southampton, NY with her husband, Philip Baltz, and their son.
Steve DeLuca
Vice President/Publisher, Departures
Steve DeLuca is vice president and publisher of Departures, the American Express Publishing luxury lifestyle magazine for Platinum Card® and Centurion® members of American Express, and Black Ink, the magazine published exclusively for Centurion® members. He oversees the Departures sales and marketing operation, which includes the magazine, Departures.com, the 13 editions of Departures International, as well as Black Ink, a quarterly publication exclusively for Centurion® members of American Express.
DeLuca joined Departures in June 2010 with nearly two decades of experience in the publishing industry.
Prior to American Express Publishing, DeLuca held numerous positions at a variety of publications, including vice president and publisher of Details. He served as publisher of Rolling Stone and associate publisher of Conde Nast Traveler, Maxim and InStyle. His career began at Details as sales development manager and moved as advertising director at Gourmet.
DeLuca has been an American Express Cardmember since 1986.
Cara David
Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Integrated Media
Cara David, senior vice president, corporate marketing and integrated media, oversees strategic corporate integrated sales across all American Express Publishing Corporation brands: Travel + Leisure,
Travel + Leisure Golf, Food & Wine, Departures, Executive Travel, and Black Ink. She is responsible for the company's targeted research initiatives, such as the Annual Survey of Affluence & Wealth in America, produced by American Express Publishing and the Harrison Group, as well as branding initiatives for the division, including The Luxury Summit, an annual premier forum dedicated exclusively to the luxury industry.
David joined American Express Publishing in 1997 as senior account manager of Travel + Leisure, where she handled luxury and corporate accounts as well as the New England territory. Later, she became the companys first corporate sales director, spearheading significant incremental sales gains. David was promoted to corporate sales & marketing director, expanding her role to include corporate marketing, promotion, and events, in addition to advertising sales, and was named vice president of corporate sales and marketing in 2002. She was promoted to senior vice president, strategic insights, marketing and sales in 2006. Before joining the company, David was director of advertising sales at Saveur. From 1994 to 1996 she was publisher of Modern Bride. David began her career at Interior Design, where she held various positions working her way up to the position of publisher from 1991 to 1994.
David received the Time Inc. Presidents Award in 2003, the companys highest honor. She graduated cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College and currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
Shaun K. Gurl
Vice President, Magazine Consumer Marketing
Shaun Gurl is vice president of consumer marketing at American Express Publishing, where he is responsible for all subscription and newsstand marketing for consumer magazines such as Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine,
Travel + Leisure Golf, and Executive Travel Skyguide. Shaun also oversees consumer research for the magazine brands and supports audience development and reporting for the magazine websites Travelandleisure.com and Foodandwine.com.
Shaun joined American Express Publishing in 2003 after nearly twenty years at Time Inc. There he held a variety of consumer marketing and development roles at People, Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrated For Kids, and Fortune magazines. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Shaun is a married father of three children.
Marshall Corey
Vice President, Books, Products, and Services
Marshall Corey, vice president, books & products for American Express Publishing Corporation, oversees the companys brand extensions: American Express Appointment Book program, Food & Wine and Travel + Leisure book programs, Travel + Leisure Elite Traveler Club, Food & Wine Connoisseur Club, Travel + Leisure Golf Players Club, SkyGuide Executive Privilege Club, and Travel + Leisure Family Club, as well as the American Express Publishing check program and product licensing. In this role, Corey is responsible for the acquisition, partnerships, communications, fulfillment, distribution, and planning for these products. Since assuming this role, his group has added more than one million customers, grown revenue by 143 percent, and increased net profit by 158 percent, contributing substantially to the diversified bottom line of American Express Publishing.
Corey began at American Express Publishing as newsstand manager in magazine circulation in 1996. He was soon promoted to director, retail sales, directing newsstand and book sales through all retail channels. In 1999, his responsibilities increased to overseeing the management of the then start-up membership clubs, as well as the Food & Wine book program. He was promoted to his current role in September 2003. Before American Express Publishing, Corey worked at Time Inc., Hearst Magazines, and Bertelsmann in various retail and direct marketing roles.
Corey is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta and has an MBA from Pennsylvania State University. He currently lives on Long Island with his wife and daughter.
Philip Whitney
Vice President, Online Media
Philip Whitney, vice president, online media for American Express Publishing Corporation, oversees the companys websites: TravelandLeisure.com, FoodandWine.com, TLGolf.com, Departures.com, and ExecutiveTravelMagazine.com. Since assuming this position, online traffic has increased 86 percent and online advertising has climbed 338 percent.
Previously, Whitney served as general manager, international, where he guided the expansion of American Express Publishings international editions into emerging luxury markets. Before joining the company in 2003, Whitney held various positions at Time Inc., including a seven year stint at Money magazine, where he began as consumer marketing director in 1992. In 1997, he became a vice president of Time Inc. in recognition of his innovative subscriber retention efforts that led to record circulation profits. He would later become vice president of international development in 2000 and then a year later, executive vice president, global marketing officer of Time and Fortune International, based in London, from 2000 to 2003. From 1998 to 2000, Whitney worked at Jupiter Media Metrix as vice president, marketing and online media, where he directed online content and marketing initiatives that led to Jupiters IPO in 1999.
Whitney began his career in publishing as a magazine consultant for Robert Cohen Associates, Inc., a publishing consulting company specializing in magazine launches.
Whitney is a graduate of Tufts University and the Radcliffe Publishing Course and continues to teach the Columbia Publishing Course at Columbia University. He currently lives in Westchester, NY with his wife and two daughters.
Jeffrey Fulton

Jeffrey Fulton, vice president, technology, oversees the technology portfolio for American Express Publishing Corporation brands: Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Departures, Travel + Leisure Golf, Travel + Leisure Family, Executive Travel, and Black Ink. He is responsible for the company's editorial computing systems, support, networks, telecommunication, and web development teams.
Fulton, who was senior director of information technology, continuity, sustainability, and responsibility at Time Inc., got his start in magazine production in 1983 at Time, and then moved into the technology arena. He built and led the Fortune Technology Group before adding to his portfolio Money, Fortune Small Business, Business 2.0, Corporate Sales and Marketing, Custom Publishing, and Media Networks Inc., supporting large staffs with diversified technology needs. Fulton has been intimately involved in designing and implementing multiple editorial and imaging systems, and, most recently, was responsible for creating Time Inc.'s Global Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan programs.
Fulton received the Time Inc. Presidents Award in 1996, the companys highest honor, as well as the Quality Award for Excellence in 1994.
A graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in print production and photography, he currently resides in New York with his wife and two children.
Tracy Kelliher

Tracy Kelliher is vice president, operations for the American Express Publishing Corporation brands: Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Departures, Travel + Leisure Golf, Travel + Leisure Family, Executive Travel, and Black Ink. She is responsible for production, facilities, and vendor relations.
Kelliher joined the company in January 2008 as director of administrative services where she oversaw facilities and vendor relations. Before joining the company, Kelliher was director of marketing services at Ann Taylor Loft, where she managed all phases of the retailer's production strategy. Prior to that, she spent 18 years at Time Inc. in various production and operations roles, including director of production at Real Simple; director of operations for Money, Fortune, and Fortune Small Business; and production director of Time Canada, Time Latin America, and Time For Kids, where she served as a member of the launch team for Time Inc.'s first in-school publication.
Kelliher received an MBA from New York University.
Jill Davison

Davison joined the company in June 2005 after working at Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. for five years. She was senior director, corporate communications, and headed PR efforts for the company's magazines, including
Car and Driver, Road & Track, Elle, Woman's Day, and Premiere. Previously, she was director of public relations at Hearst Magazines, which publishes Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Esquire, Harper's BAZAAR, among others, from 1996 to 2000. From 1995 to 1996, she worked at Edelman, an international public relations agency.
Davison began her career at DeVries Public Relations in 1992 and got her first taste of magazine publicity in 1994 when she was part of the team that publicized the launch of In Style magazine. Davison is a graduate of Boston University with a B.S. in Journalism and currently lives in New York City.
Jonathan Kiehnau

Jonathan Kiehnau is vice president/general manager, custom solutions for American Express Publishing Corporation. He oversees a team of creative and business professionals who design and deliver purpose-built multimedia marketing programs.
Prior to joining the company, Kiehnau was an independent management consultant, specializing in sales, marketing, and business development based in Singapore. Before that he held leadership roles at HouseParty.com and Time Inc. where he served as president and managing director of ECM: Emphasis Custom Media in Hong Kong, managing director of Time Inc. custom publishing, and international advertising sales director of Time magazine. Kiehnau is a past recipient of the Time Inc. Presidents Award, the companys highest honor, recognizing innovative problem solving and extraordinary performance.
He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and resides in New York City.
Tanisa Williams
Director, Human Resources
Tanisa Williams is director of Human Resources at American Express Publishing Corporation. She oversees and executes an HR strategy that attracts, develops, motivates and retains American Express Publishing’s most important asset – its’ people. She and her staff partner with business leaders to deliver counsel and services that drive business results and meet employee needs, such as talent acquisition, compensation, diversity, compliance, as well as employee relations and development.
Before joining the American Express Publishing Corporation in 2007 as human resources relationship leader, Williams worked at American Express for five years. She began as manager of employee relations, and was promoted to director of employee relations supporting global business travel.
Williams grew up in Harlem on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where she still resides today. She graduated from Ithaca College in upstate New York, and received her Masters degree from NYU. She also received a law degree from the Syracuse University.
